This town was walled to prevent attacks from the sea.There are a few paintings that portray the wall with merlons and built of voussoirs, some round-plan Romanesque towers, and look-out defence posts from the 12th century.
The current set dates from the 16th century, out of which Torres del Reloj and Codolar stand out.
